My new favourite blog is Jessica Hische’s Daily Drop Cap. Each day she shares a unique, hand crafted, initial cap for other bloggers to beautify their blogs with. Check out her website for more typographic treasures, including commissions for Tiffany & Co and Uppercase magazine.
A collection of typeface designs by graphic designer Andrew Byrom, including the ingenious Venetian Blind typeface and Interiors (3D type) created from full scale steel furniture.
Dutch Osborne created this striking photogram alphabet from found objects. Using a dark room technique, made popular by American artist Man Ray, Osborne achieved these negative silhouettes by placing the objects onto photo-sensitive paper which is then exposed to light. The magic of photograms is the unique results achieved by varying the length of exposure and the transparency of the objects. Q is my favourite letter of this set.
I’m loving this hand illustrated lettering by British illustrator and designer Sarah Gardner.
A lush typographic logo designed by the uber talented Narani Kannan.
